A two-panel Sumie (black ink painting) screen of 2 carps in a pond signed by Onishi Chin-Nen (1781-1851).
Chin-Nen was a government official under Tokugawa shogunate who loved to paint, and studied Maruyama-style painting under Watanabe Nangaku, and Tani Bucho. Famous for Sumie especially for painting carps and turtles.
It has been re-maounted on silver frame.
It is in good condition.
