This is a masterpiece beautiful Kachouga, bird-and-flower painting by Kano Sansetsu was a Japanese painter also known as Kano Heishiro.
Sansetsu was apprenticed to Kan? Sanraku, married his daughter, and was adopted by him after the death of Sanraku's eldest son. Sansetsu became the leader of the Kan? school.

Edo period Japanese Sumie Carp Screen by Onishi Chin-Nen.

A two-panel Sumie (black ink painting) screen of 2 carps in a pond signed by Onishi Chin-Nen (1781-1851).

Chin-Nen was a government official under Tokugawa shogunate who loved to paint, and studied Maruyama-style painting under Watanabe Nangaku, and Tani Bucho. Famous for Sumie especially for painting carps and turtles.

It has been re-maounted on silver frame.
It is in good condition.
