Edo Period,( 1615-1868) Japanese Temple Bishamonten. The finest Bishamonten I have seen at auction in Many years here in Japan. Museum quality. Although the Deity appears to be black he is Completely gold underneath the hundreds of years of Incense Patina. Could be cleaned but I always advise this not be done. Both Demon and Bishamonten have hand blown Glass eyes.
